Service concept

Nippon Biodiesel Fuel (NBF) provides electronic voucher systems based on the NFC (Near Field Communication) card to manage distribution and payment/settlement in retail shops. In addition to the system provision, we also provide training for beneficiaries, merchant and system managers, plus technical advice during the implementation in order to achieve stable operations.

Service structure

Our service will be usable in retail shops or any other place which has devices and allows users to manage purchases, deposit credit, and distribute and receive commodities. Beneficiaries are able to receive commodity assistances by bringing their NFC card and are not required to bring physical cash. The system also has the following benefits.

The system

• – The system has biometric identification to conduct any transaction, which will prevent illegal access and allows re-issuance of the card with the record of past transactions when the card is damaged or lost.
• – Beneficiaries are able to use the subsidy multiple times and in any shops that have the device where the system is installed. It is not required to use the entire subsidy at once, thus allowing beneficiaries to use the subsidy when they wish and for what better suits their needs. Additionally, this enables program owners to implement a long-term program.
• – The system is programmed to be used even in offline circumstances. We operated for more than 6 years in rural districts in Mozambique without any internet connection.
• – This operation under off-line circumstances was useful in a disaster recovery program. We supported emergency assistance for Cyclone Idai, which caused devastating damages in southern Africa in 2019.
• – All transactions of sales, distribution, deposit, etc… are recorded in the server. This will allow us to write trustable reports and support program evaluation.
